Photo of the surroundings to give a gps location from my phone. There was a group of 7 sheep and a group of 3. There may be another group of 3, or I saw the same group twice. These photos are of the 7 sheep. They were heading uphill off the track near the entry to Stony Creek. All sheep were in Stony creek nature reserve. I'm assuming some of these are 3 I reported a bunch of weeks ago, but it's really difficult terrain.
I'm hoping this information automatically gets passed to the relevant authorities?
Property tag number appears to be NA750110. One of the sheep had 3431 as an additional number on its tag.
Hi KorinneM, Well done for getting those tag numbers. Canberra Nature Map does not have a system for automatically reporting to the authorities all the things that could be reported, such as weeds, pest animals, illegal activities and stray livestock. It is up to all of us as individuals to decide what to report and to learn who to report to. In this case it would be someone in Parks and Conservation who is responsible for the management of that reserve. Hopefully they know the name and phone number of the owner of these sheep. A phonecall in business hours to the Casuarina Sands Depot might work, or the Namadgi Visitor Centre (62375307) or the Tidbinbilla VC (62077921). Or alternatively call Access Canberra (132281) if you are patient. There are also emails.
