They look very similar, don't they. If I'd started searching through the rushes in reverse alphabetical order I would no doubt have stopped at usitatus rather than remotiflorus. How are they distinguished from each other?
Thanks for that. I thought it must be something like that, but the plantnet Juncus key has way too much technical jargon for me to decipher. Either way it was a new species for the PNR plant list (native species #253 in fact), and happy that I was on target with my ID, even if by accident. Grateful, as ever, for the effort you put into moderation.
