I agree, Barbara. Reg moderation can you moderate? or if id is clear cut there is also a function to override suggestions etc and to confirm the species straight away.
This may be Craspedia paludicola, it is not possible to verify from the photos. Rosemary and I are currently looking into the occurence of C.paludicola in the ACT and we will change the Identification precedent accordingly. For now I'd prefer if we could keep this one in unidentified.
If you end up making the return journey would be good if you could take measurments of the leaves and total plant height. The two are seperated by propotion, I can supply you both with the key.
I know of distinct sites with Craspedia - for example, northwest slope (very wet) and along a steep track parallel to the pine plantation fence perpendicular to Blue Metal Road; see Craspedia variabilis (Common Billy Buttons) (this sighting is under Canberra Central (district) but it is on Mt Majura - I can't bring up the distribution map and had to tick each individual sighting to find this one). When I started id of Mt Majura plants in 2005 I thought they were 2 species ... Many thanks for the hint with the measurements - I assume you refer to the basal leaves? w
