tapirlord, I'm confused: have the species been merged?
We have D. leptophylla and D mimosoides subsp mimosoides on our flora list.
Cheers, thanks

i've confirmed under an intergrade, both d.leptophylla and d.minosoides are seperate species,
the photos aren't good enough for me to put this down to one or the other. I believe the two species actually intergrade in the majura area as well.

see Daviesia leptophylla/D. mimosoides (Slender Bitter Pea or Bitter Pea)

Max, if you can please collect a sample of this as well. not sure what to look for when taking a photo of either species.

I don't understand Rosemary's comment; what is cf? I always thought Daviesia leptophylla has linear leaves and D mimosoides has lanceolate leaves more like the one leaf shown in Max' 4th photograph.
Max if your collected specimen has leaves could you please take a photo of those? thanks for collecting - please use the usual procedure and place it in a plastic bag/fridge; please add the date of your collection (Isobel asked me when you collected the specimen of the new wattle which I didn't know).

cf stands for the Latin word confer which means “compare”

This specimen has Long narrow leaves around 3.5-4.0 cm long, and 3-4 mm wide. Cannot upload more photos (CNM Maximum reached above). Colour is "olive green" (subjective) both top and bottom similar, midrib is not very clear to see. Stem is squarish in cross section. Collection date is Mon 24 Oct 2022.

In the third photo, when I zoom in, I can see the midrib and on some leaves a mucro. That is a D. leptophylla indicator. Anyway be interesting to see what sample reveals ... hybrids make identification difficult as we have seen with wattles.

I can't remember that I received and passed on a collected specimen for Id. Anyhow, there seems no further id. Both species, D. leptophylla and D. mimosoides subsp mimpsoides, are included in FoMM's Flora list for both Mt Majura and Mt Ainslie.

Specimens were passed on to Waltraud, to give to Isobel , October 2022.

thanks max
I was very sick last year particularly in October which may have blurred my memory... I really can't remember anything, sorry. Perhaps for the future it would be better to give collected specimens directly to Isobel?
