User's notes

Small bright orange balls, very short stalks visible on some. An opening can be seen in the top of some of the balls. Growing on soil, balls about 1-2mm in diameter. Very bright orange. I have no idea what section to place these in, they are not disc like, perhaps most resemble puffballs opening from the top.

The Facebook collective has suggested a cannonball fungus Sphaerobolus sp.
Maybe sphaerobolus stellatus?

Hmmm, interesting! The mention of a stalk and the growth on soil make me doubt Sphaerobolus.
