Ok. Too big for Arctininae. It appears to be on a tree trunk. A bit odd for inside a cave? Do you know what sort of tree that was?

Can you collect it (carefully, the protruding hairs may be dangerous) and keep it to see what moth in due course emerges?

Definitely not a tree. Deep inside a cave, as in not just inside a cave, but in the darkest part of the cave and behind a protected granite flake. I couldn't reach it even if I wanted.
