This is a tricky one. Not only are there many other possibilities, but there is a long history of L. hemichalceum being mistakenly called L. erythrurum. So even with close examination it can be hard to separate species.
Thanks Michael - any tips for features I should try and make sure I capture to help with ID in bee photos? Although so much depends on whether they're willing to keep still!
