Hi Alison, For the next time, helpful ID features to try to include in photos of small mammals for identification are: tail length in relation to body length (more strictly, does tail reach past nose when folded forward but of course the rat has to be captive or dead to do this); ear length in relation to eye ( again when folded forward); size and shape of pads on the sole of the rear feet; general shape and proportions of the head, and head plus body from different angles. cheers
