User's notes

Photo taken from across William Hovell Drive in the suburb of Whitlam. Amazed to see some many kangaroos along the ridgeline of the boundary of the Pinnacle Nature Reserve. Including another small group to the south, I counted 112, but there were no doubt more over the ridge or lying down. After the photos were taken they began to move down the southern slope of the ridge.

Hi Alison, I formed the opinion that at a certain size around 150 to 200, groups of EGKs become impossible to count directly due to the swirling movement of animals within the group. I have a landscape photo (composite of multiple images) showing over 340 in a group at Gungaderra NR, but even the count from the photo was imperfect because a few kangaroos got deleted or smudged where the photos joined.

I agree. The second photo is a merge of three photos. However, these roos weren't moving much at the time I took the photos. I counted the roos from the photos.
