thanks Michael. I think it found me, or rather my car! Is this species rare or common? I've never seen it before in Canberra in the 5 years I've been living here. Also got a couple of sawfly clusters on the tea-tree at front of my house. Will send a photo of one next post

I notice this is only the ninth sighting on Canberra Nature Map, so my guess is it would either be rare or for whatever reason more common but rarely seen or noticed.

They feed on leaves from eucalyptus trees as well as other tree species, & are usually up in the tree canopy so not seen often.
