Flowerheads tend to be ovate in R duttonianum and open, never linear and contracted like this and florets tend to be broader.
Flowerhead and spikelet appearance consistent with R racemosum, but not R penicillatum, as the callus is long and slender and callus hairs do not overtop the lower lemma hairs.
