I agree. The two previous RG records near Callitris Lookout in 2019 and 2020 may well have been the same animal but this seems to be a second individual, and looks to be another male. (Sightings/4360465 24 Dec 2020 DerekC. Face obscured. Necrotic tip of tail. Contrasty tail stripes. Sightings/4183697 6 Jan 2019 Mick Reid. Left Face visible but not tail. Jek if you can post a photo showing a closer view of the face, it may aid in future recognition of individuals.
Sorry Don, these were the only pics I got - I nearly always have my camera with me but this time I didn't so only phone photos. I can try cropping to see if it helps. Also, this was a fairly small individual
Thanks Jek, Cropping may be worth it if we get a better view of the face after file is posted to CNM. (Maybe the photo quality gets reduced in the posting process, I dont know.) And thanks for size comment, because I had thought this was a big individual. At Naas Valley we have yet to see a female over 1.2 kg but males are typically about 2.2 kg. So far no large individual at Naas valley has been female. I admit there is a record from the 1990s at Googong of a female far larger than any male we have seen, but at that stage of knowledge sex was very difficult to determine.
