I think it is the first generation bird. The shadows are playing a trick. I have photos just like this but when i bring up the shadows it shows the white going from the patch to the eye, i will check other pics when i get a chance. On a side note the hybrid and a New Holland have been taking food to the nest and today the New Holland carried a fecal sac from the nest so new hybrids are cooked :)
