There were 2 snakes lying together when I first came across them. In the time it took for me to ensure I was at a safe distance and get my camera out the larger of the two slithered down a hole just above the angular rock on the far right of frame. The one remaining (probably about 1 m long) remained for several minutes and then disappeared down the same hole as the first.
This is the first time in over 50 encounters with eastern browns on and around The Pinnacle that I've seen two together. Am I right in thinking this may have been mating behaviour?
