Hi Alison, I'm pretty sure this is a jumping jack, one of the species in the Myrmecia pilosula group. The mandibles in your photo look pretty straight and lightly built, while in Myrmecia tarsata they are longer and more curved. Also, in your photo the tip of the abdomen looks black, while it is reddish for Myrmecia tarsata. Cheers, Jon
