Hi Simone, I had trouble getting the taxonomy to update on CNM, so didn't send you a note when I did the ID yesterday. Taxonomy is now sorted, so congratulations for bringing a new species to CNM! The blotchy colour on these ants is normal for this species and there are a few other Camponotus which also can have quite variable colour. Camponotus sponsorum is not very common, so it's good to have them in the system. Cheers, Jon
