I've not noticed gang gang feasting on blossums before (but then, I've not looked . . .) In the last two photos, the male is being harassed by some pretty unhappy noisy miners. Meanwhile, I was being bombed by a territorial butcher bird (which was a bit scary having seen the curve of their beak). Hope the photos were worth the risk.
Phew! I take protection with me now when I walk there. There are quite a few trees planted around that area. I saw one pair of gang gangs eating there this morning, and a different pair this afternoon (I know they are different birds because I saw the second pair fly from their hollow to the trees this afternoon, whereas this morning they were at the hollow while the first pair ate - if that makes sense). Also - I saw a superb parrot in same type of tree this morning, a little bit away from this copse, with lorikeets. (my walk this morning was a bit like hitting pay dirt!)
