yes unfortunately takes over in wet sites. not sure what to do as some areas have frogs and I don't like spraying - too hard to dig all out...

Yes, it is certainly common, and a prolific seeder.
This is a tussock forming species. Tussocks, native or introduced can be aestivating refuge for frogs, except (of course) when the tussocks are trimmed right down by grazing. This species is highly palatable to kangaroos, who seemed to really favour it during the recent drought: I often found it heavily grazed and the only green plant present: it isn't obvious what native species it is displacing, if any.
