Thanks alison are all teh groups seen feeding on the same type of gum nuts? It looks like it from the photos and that they were feeding on broad-leaved peppermint

It did seem so but John Brannon or Warren would be better placed to identify the trees. @sangio7 the trees in this sightings are those on the corner of the tracks near the small Kurrajong grove.
Michael, note that there are now multiple duplicate fields for Gang Gang sightings regarding the nesting behaviour, description etc. Luckily I did not have to complete any of these fields at this time, but will be very confusing and annoying come nesting time. Which of the three behaviour fields should be completed or all three - just to be safe:-)

Thanks Alison - Yes we are working on the attribute fields now - different versions and questions from the different Naturemapr sites have been merged - will fix soonish

Hi Alison & Michael. From what I've seen, the Gang Gangs at the Pinnacle have been feeding almost exclusively on the gumnuts of Red Stringybark (E. macrorhyncha). The spot where Alison saw these birds has both Red Stringybark and Apple Box, though I can't rule out the possibility of something else. (I'm no expert on trees either.) The other tree I've seen them feeding on is Native Cypress (Callitris endlicheri). Warren and I saw a group of 10 feeding in a stand of callitris on Tuesday morning.

Some of the group of 10 gang gangs that John and I saw that day further east in the reserve were fossicking in E. cinerea as I recall, not far from my reported sighting of the latter (4385311) later that morning. John @JohnB may have a better recollection. When they first turned up in large numbers in the reserve it was in the E. macrorhyncha woodland and those gum nuts were the main attraction for them.

On my way back this group had flown to a couple of Callitris endlicheri trees and were feeding there also.
