The moth has been recorded in other places, but mostly ACT. What we need now is an equally quality record of the male (two on CNM) which apparently is diurnal.

I didn't realise they were the same moth! We'll have to go on expeditions in Oct and Nov to various bush settings - does it have a habitat preference that you know?

Both the male and the female show the reddish coloured segments at the base of the abdomen.

Odd that it's upsidedown... the male is black and diurnal, the female white and nocturnal. I wonder how they hide and when they meet :)
