The leaves should have more obvious longitudinal veins if this was implexa. I am thinking Acacia rubida. Was it much branched or with a clear single main stem?

I haven't noticed any A. implexa in bud today but that could be because I was in the shade of pines. However, A. rubida has started to flower in places. The obvious vein and the gland in the photo indicates rubida.

I have added another photo, which may help.
My memory is that this was a young plant, and had more than one stem, more like a few: with some branching. What you see in the photo was one plant.

Definitely not Implexa then, looks much more like rubida.
