5 snow gums were planted many years ago by a resident. 2 still survive. 3 died from borer attack (Photo 3). One of the dead trees has suckered. The liveing trees are in a slightly sheltered area, the 3 that died are more exposed on a stony site. Not sure if it is the native wood borer (Phoracantha sp) known as a longicorn beetle which has killed the snow gums in the mountains. The snow gum in the Arboretum is about the same age as ours, very health and irrigated.
