It doesn't come across very well in the images but the Dragon was quite dark in colour and blended in with the tree it was on. There also appears to be some white coloured deterioration of the Dragon's left ear, visible in the first image.

The white coloured patch in the ear is probably sloughed skin that has not yet fallen off.
