I've been watching this Frogmouth nest for about a month or so, but unfortunately I think it was sitting on infertile eggs. This was my last observation before the nest was abandoned. Full marks go to it for perseverance though.
PS. sadly there was a freshly dead Frogmouth in the long grass at the Francis Street carpark about a month ago (sorry I didn't want to post a dead bird photo). There were no obvious external trauma injuries, but my best guess is that it did die from some kind of car strike injury. It was quite a smallish size, so maybe a fledgling having its first bad experience with a car...???
