User's notes

Not sure about this one. Has the shape of a lady beetle but suspect a leaf beetle. Lots of larvae crawling around on the same tree trunk and clustered together in notches. Some look about to transform and I suspect they may be the larvae of this beetle. Will keep an eye on them.

This beetle is teneral - its cuticle hasn't yet hardened and coloured up after it emerged from the pupa.

Ahh, thanks. I saw some examples of the common spotted lady beetle that said teneral, but wasn't sure what that meant.
