Great sighting Alison! I agree with this record though for some reason cannot confirm it here as a moderator? Good that you observed size of beetle as they are quite large for buprestids. I sighted many of this species today at ANIC. Looks like it is on peeled back bark from a eucalypt? Was it just 'sitting' there or was any other behaviour noticed?

Hi Stuart, It was under bark. I pulled it back just enough to photograph. It didn't move so no other behaviour observed. I finally found one you haven't found. :-)

There are still over 1000 species of jewel beetle in Australia "that I haven't found" Alison, so your chances in finding more are very good; best of luck (skill) with it....
