Note that there was a comment on Twitter that this is white purslane, Montia australasica.

Thanks Mathew - definitely not white purslane which has almost grass like leaves and a more open flower

Dave Albrecht at the ANBG has kindly identified this species and confirmed what Twitter suspected. It is Montia australasica. Apparently this species grows on dry gravely mountain tops and not just in wetlands as I had thought.
