Riding into work in the morning I saw this turtle on the pavement on the north side of the central basin. As you can see, the lake side was the built-up, so it had not come from there. The landward side was in the area with the raised garden beds so it could not climb up there. I am not sure where it was going but its head was already retracted when I came across it. I wondered if the overcast skies could have confused it and it had come ashore to lay eggs? I did not take many photos as I figured that it was already distressed.
