When the Burley Griffins designed Canberra, they included restoration of the then bare surrounding hill tops. Red Hill was to be planted with red plants, Mt Mugga white, and so forth. This non Canberra native was one of the red plant list for Red Hill and is one of three red species plantings thriving on the Hill. It is local to the Wagga area
