I do not think the forewing pattern matches M. squamulata. I am suggesting Microdes sp. (genus) because I think the wing patern of this specimen matches closely the species described as 'Microdes species (1)' by Moths of Victoria on their supporting disc to Part 3. The disc at page 1/2 for this taxon says the Australian distribution includes NSW and Tasmania (ANIC). They also say the species is 'likely to have a wider distribution in damp forest areas'. - which would fit where this species was recorded. See also Sighting No. 4349792.
