I think this is Nanodectes harpax (Rentz) Small Shield-back based on photo and description in A Guide to Katydids of Australia by David Rentz. There are two other sightings of this katydid also unidentified.
I have been seeing another grey katydid in the same areas as I have seen these, and Im trying to work out if they are another species, or an instar, or females.

Its hard to distinguish between juvenile Lanciana and Nanodectes. I identified the earlier images as Lanciana because of the black femoral stripe

Thanks Roger, do juvenile Lanciana also have the light grey back with black/dark sides like the Nanodectes?
