Animal beside the road, recently dead. No obvious injuries. Warks Rd, walking several hundred metres uphill from Blundells Cr Rd intersection (cords provided by another in the party proved incorrect)
I walked up the road not long after Sandra and friends, and also "found" the Glider by the roadside. Then found Sandra et al, and they had decided not to take the carcass, so it should still be there. I thought it was about 300 metres from the Blundells Cr Road intersection, on the LHS of the road as you walk up. For some reason there is a closed gate now at that intersection, so you cannot drive through to Bendora Road as you could in the past.
Kyeelee Driver of ACT Government vet services performed the necropsy. The female glider was in good condition, was full of food, and lacked evidence of injury of the type expected from a predator. It had an opaque right eye (long term, not recent) which would have meant it saw little if anything on that side. Its right thoracic area was severely injured by a blunt force trauma consistent with hitting a tree at speed.
