User's notes

Is there any point in reporting the incursion of this species into Woodstock Reserve (North) and the Shepherd's Lookout area? I first found plants there in May 2014. Wombats, kangaroos and walkers are bringing seeds up from the river corridor. The plants are impacting or will compete with Calotis populations.

I tried to include 1000 to 10,000 in recording the abundance Michael as there are literally thousands of the Bidens throughout the Shepherds Lookout - Woodstock North sections of the reserve that I visited briefly. I brought home a 'clean up' bag full of plants but if the impact is to be reduced it would take an army of keen-sighted people to collect what's visible now. Goodness knows what the infestation rate is like on the busy track down to and across the Molonglo and along the Murrumbidgee corridor. The species is frost-tender but the barbed seeds will survive that I'm sure. I don't know who is currently the ranger for the area. Thanks, Rosemary.

Even if the mass of plants in the drain near the Shepherds Lookout sign were treated it would help.

I've updated the abundance to 1,000 - 10,000. Michael M will be aware of this report. If you want any information about what the rangers policies are you should talk to him. There is a large patch of 1,000's on Tugg Hill too. This species & Bidens pilosa are becoming well established and hard to control.
