There are several species of Medicago with pods like these including Medicago arabica, minima, polymorpha, praecox, truncatula.

Sorry the photos are poor. These are leaves, not pods. They look like Acaena but are very distorted; maybe virus affected?

You are right. I did not think to blow the photos up further. They might be acaena but would have to be very distorted not to have any teeth along the edges. And the same applies to the weedy erobiums.
