If this Musk Duck hangs around, keep an eye on it. It may be a male. At this time of year it is hard to tell them apart as the lobe can recede. If this duck displays (kicking or whistling practice) then it is definitely a male. Our resident, Geoff, looks like a female at the moment but is practising his displays. If it is a female, send it to us! :)
Thanks for that information, did not know that the lobe receded on the males. Will check up on it every now and then, not sure how we can get it to fly your way if is stays a female. Have seen Ripper at Tidbinbilla displaying all alone quite often when Tid was open so know what to look for. Thanks again.
