Is the red colour natural?

The Species page calls this Rye Beetle-grass but the images show as Five Minute grass. A small discrepancy because both are common names.

Yes, the red colour is natural, but the stems only seem to change to this colour (from green) under exceptionally good conditions. When I've seen the species in previous years on Black Mountain (and elsewhere) the plants have been much smaller, the inflorescence stems much much shorter, and no sign of the red colour.

It has always been Five Minute Grass for CNM. plantnet.rbgsyd has it as Five Minute Grass, so corrected to same.

The ACT Census of vascular plants has Five Minute Grass as the common name for this species.
