This sighting is of an animal from a mob at Government House, subject to fertility control research. We would particularly like to keep tabs on these animals and welcome postings (see the announcements on the home page for more info).

There are female EGKs at FGC that were tagged in 2006 as part of a fertility control research project. One was tagged yellow left, red right, but none was red, yellow. And the tags were numbered and had reflective edge strips. I have emailed other people to ask who this might be. (I assume the image was not reversed.)

Yeah no image reversal. I'll be interested to hear what it's about.

Looks like its probably an escapee from Government House (no fence on the lake shore and they swim) but to be confirmed tomorrow.

ESCAPEE: The experts have replied. They recorded her inside the fence at Government House about a month ago. She has been treated to control her fertility, so she should be the odd one out among the FGC females if she remains there until they have bulging pouches. In general EGKs are highly faithful to small home ranges, with occasional out and back excursions, and this is an old female which will probably have lived her entire life at Yarralumla, so there is a good chance she will seek to return, but she would not be traffic-wise nor dog-wise so its a risky adventure she is on.

That's fascinating thanks for the update! I'll be sure to make sure I upload if I come across her or other tagged roos again!
