Hi Alison, Camponotus nigriceps is very similar to Camponotus consobrinus, but C. consobrinus has a band of yellow/orange at the front of the otherwise black gaster (abdomen) which you can see well in your excellent photos. C. nigriceps has an all-black gaster. Cheers, Jon
