A very thirsty Kangaroo visited us tonight, 4 January 2019 on this hottest day of 43C. We suspect he has been before. We have a couple of dishes of water at the side of the house and in the backyard there are 3 dishes on the ground and 2 bird baths. He stayed for about 15 minutes until he had his fill of water before he hopped down the drive-way where there is open land and a park down the end of the cul-de-sac. He emptied the 2 dishes near the house and had quite a few long drinks from one dish near a bird bath. The dishes were filled again later. It was a privilege and worrying sight all at the same time. So you never know who will come and drink the water you put out for all of our thirsty wildlife, even in the suburbs. Sure hope we get the rain forecasted. Our thoughts are with all at this difficult time.
