in amongst the Bottle brush outside Cygnus hide, real fun photographing it was so windy the branches were bouncing up. Shows all the right characteristics, no white eye ring or white moustache. Looks different to the last one we saw so must be a few of them around now. Nice to get one so close.

Had an interesting email from Geoffrey Dabb, suggesting that this pictured bird may be a second generation hybrid, Shorty also mentioned seeing a New Holland Honeyeater feeding a hybrid on an earlier sighting. So who knows how many generations there are by now.

Yes the facial markings seem to differ from the original hybrid
