User's notes

Thanks Shorty for putting your Corella Long-billed x Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (hybrid) on as hopefully this will help ours this time. Please refer to Shorty’s listing: https://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/4238083 Similarly, to what Shorty has done the differences have been emphasized to show the blue eye ring, extra yellow, you can also see it has a longer than usual bill. Please note the photos were taken at around 3pm on a very sunny day so the bird was quite bleached out by the sun and the photos were not taken in RAW, with the program we use we are limited to what we can achieve. Our first try was for a Little Corella x Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (hybrid) but as it has the same characteristics as Shorty’s does have listed it as Corella Long-billed x Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (hybrid).

Are you saying you put this up before? Can you link us to it and whatever discussion took place previously. I don't recall.

No worries Deb, i posted mine as i recalled your sighting but could not find your post that you put up? I also saw the bird at my place a while back but got no photos so could not post. I would assume the same bird? Ryu, yes, she did post this before but was not confirmed, in fact, was discounted from my memory.

Thanks Shorty for remembering.
I deleted the sighting as it was not taken seriously and as you mentioned Shorty discounted. I was told it was a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo having a moult that it had NO visible signs to be a hybrid. So this is why you can no longer find it. Thanks all in advance for your time and comments.

Clearly a hybrid, my apologies for not making a comment on your first post.

I can clearly see characteristics of a hybrid so would be happy to confirm.

Most likely hybrid ID, given yellow on throat and longer bill. Sorry that this sighting was originally dismissed and not picked up as being a hybrid.
