Watching nature means death, as well as life. I've followed this little chough since finding their nest. First there were two young, but only one that made it to the ground. I was concerned at how vulnerable the little one would be, thinking it couldn't fly, but then saw it about two metres up in a shrub and I breathed a (premature) sigh of relief. Sadly, the whole family disappeared about 10 days after the young one left the nest. I assume once it was no longer around the adult birds left the area. In photos 3 to 5, I found it fascinating to watch the adult birds bathing in the dust. They filled their beaks with dirt, then dispersed the grains throughout their feathers.
