User's notes

This Red Velvet Mite caught my attention as it appeared to be walking on the surface of a puddle in the gravel beside the road. There was a strong wind so I was not sure if the mite had been blown into the puddle and was too light to break the surface tension so was pushed across the puddle by the wind. It did seem to be moving its legs on the water giving the impression it was walking. When the mite arrived on dry land it kept walking like it was just continuing its trip.
