I would be happier identifying this if you also had photos of the caterpillars inside the bag.

I didn't have any idea what those thing were when I was taking the photos, so I was a bit wary of poking around. But I can go back and open one up.

While you are about it, take a couple into protective custody and try and rear them to get an adult moth, which you could take back and release at the same site, after taking its portrait.
