What a gathering!

Yes. I've read that magpies have two groupings: breeding families that have established a territory; and tribes - a gathering of non-breeding individuals. We have a tribe in my street of around 90 birds.

The largest groups I have seen are 50 out at Tin Hut Dam (Googong), and there's always 20+ on the oval behind Chisholm Shops. Must get quite a loud morning chorus with 90 birds!
