Betty I have a 1986 publication Crop Weeds by J l Wilding, A.g. Barnett and R.L.Amor that states that the stems of Dysphania pumilo have longitudinal ridges, while teh on-line site Herbguide, which seems to be a WA flora also mentions ridges.
Dysphania pumilio is an Australian native and a weed overseas. In Florida it is called ridged goosefoot - http://florida.plantatlas.usf.edu/Plant.aspx?id=1176 has herbarium images.
