Historic record of a bird's nest fungus that has rarely been recorded in our region - would very much appreciate any further sightings

Cyathus olla must appear in other than the three places I’ve seen it and I would be keen to find out where else it occurs. In order to help you recognize it, I have photographed a herbarium specimen that I collected beside Anzac Parade, Reid, in 2001. It would have looked much the same when fresh. I have seen it once in the ANU ground and in the CSIRO grounds at Black Mountain. In Photo 1 the fruit body at the lower right is immature and still has the membrane the covers the fruit body mouth. The left-most fruit body has lost all its ‘eggs’. Photo 2 shows more of that herbarium collection and the arrows point to the fruit bodies shown in Photo 1. In Photo 3 you see several peridioles that had been ejected and had stuck to nearby plant litter. The arrowed peridiole shows the side that originally faced the inner wall of the fruit body. You see a short, dirty white cord coming out from a slight depression in the middle of the peridiole. When still in the fruit body that cord would have been more compressed and served to attach the peridiole to the fruit body wall.

@Heino @MichaelMulvaney I have records of this in Captains Flat. I'll find the photos and upload them. We have a few species of Cyathus here, but I've definitely come across C olla.
