User's notes

This is a gathering of over 100 beetles with many of them intent on breeding. Perhaps they were all just emerged after the recent heavy rain (88mm). They were flying low, at just above grass level, and landing on anything that would take their weight. Some chose to land on my rain gauge and fell in. This has happened before and they perished. These I emptied out and I took the rain gauge away.
