Why isn't this guichenoti?

Yes, you are probably right, with the spotting on the back it could be guichenoti. I must admit I had doubts myself when I selected the button. I would be happy to go with guichenoti, especially if Will has a look and agrees.

Sigh. I keep telling myself not to try and identify skinks. I see what you mean, and agree, it should be guichenoti.

I agree, this does at first glance look like it could be either guichenoti or delicata. However what appears to be a broad dark mid-vertebral (middle of the back) stripe combined with the large pale coloured flecks on the back and tail would suggest guichenoti. I hope that helps. WillO.

I always think that the blue colouring is a feature of guichenoti. I know that further afield, delicata may also have this characteristic, but not in this region?
