2 plants - one flower stem had been chewed/broken off about half way up. Gastrodia were flowering at this same location at the same time last year - sighting 3387016. While the altitude here (1210m) is a little above the usually cited 1000m for G. sesamoides the Field Guide to the Orchids of ACT also includes Smokers Gap in the local distribution list. Smokers Gap is just across the road from this location (and is also just over 1200m in altitiude). So I'm guessing these plants might be G. sesamoides - with listed G. surcula locations a lot further away? Will add some flowering images (if they are still out) next time I'm up that way. Glen
